The front part of the building has two levels and aligns with the proportions of neighboring houses. At the rear, the building is more elongated and has only one level. The volume created connects the terraced houses on the street side, and on the other side, the commercial space set back from the regional road. The bank closes off the empty space (the parking lot) in front of the neighboring supermarket.
The cubic volume, due to its flat roofs, is enlivened by the interplay of solids and voids of various proportions. The largely glazed sections create patios at the level of the bank’s open spaces. In the offices, smaller openings maintain the necessary privacy. The main entrance is lateral for safety reasons, due to the fast road characterized by heavy traffic. The recessed entrance, carved into the mass of the façade, marks the corner and serves as a strong signal for people coming from Herve. The cladding is characterized by fiber cement panels in a light gray tone. This uniform cladding is enlivened by the use of panels of varying widths.
