Swimming pool, Gembloux

The mission of the new shared public swimming pool in Gembloux is to provide an accessible, inclusive and sustainable aquatic facility, offering all members of the community a place to swim, learn, exercise and relax. Beyond its sporting function, the project aims to strengthen social ties and contribute to the development of a vibrant public environment.

The aquatic centre is designed on a single level, with all spaces organised on the ground floor to ensure clarity of circulation, universal accessibility and operational efficiency. Pool areas are complemented by all necessary support functions, including reception, changing rooms, sanitary facilities, a wellness area, administrative offices and technical storage.

Set within a green and open landscape next to the Centre sportif de l’Orneau, the new building is carefully integrated into its surroundings. The layout responds naturally to existing structures and access routes, creating a coherent ensemble with the neighbouring facilities while preserving the site’s spacious and welcoming character.
