On the site of the former Jupiler breweries in Jupille, we are repurposing a vast industrial complex. The site connects the industrial area with the heart of the village of Jupille, centred around its square and church.
The architectural design combines preservation with a contemporary image.
The program includes a wide variety of uses: diverse residential units, offices, shops and cultural spaces.
The residential units come in various forms: flats, lofts and shell spaces for residential use. Of all the buildings remaining on the site, a decision was made to highlight three buildings placed on or attached to the
14-metre-high base, which represents the height difference on the site.
The remaining annexes and buildings of little architectural interest are demolished and/or levelled to create a ‘hanging garden’. This space serves as a distribution area for the various buildings, as well as an exhibition, meeting and circulation space… a place that promotes social interaction…
