This concerns the creation of a new bank branch and residential units on Rue Grétry. It was decided to demolish the two existing houses and construct a new building while strictly adhering to the original building heights, cornice levels, and ridge heights. The new street-facing façade respects the proportions of the vertical bays found throughout the street. It is a reinterpretation of the existing historic architecture in a contemporary form, characterized by the simplicity of its shapes and the precision of its details.
The project program consists of the bank branch, which is located on the ground floor, and two residential units on the 2nd and 3rd floors. This mixed-use approach aligns with the City of Liège’s objectives. The bank branch occupies the entire ground floor area of the plot and a portion of the first floor. The architectural concept maximizes the penetration of natural light into the heart of the agency through large windows on the first floor. The apartments are spacious and have outdoor terraces. Ideal for welcoming young families in an urban center.
