transformation of a creative hub

The project involves the refurbishment and conversion of the University Sports Centre to create the Namur Creative Hub, to be called TRAKK. The site is alongside the River Sambre, at the foot of the Citadelle. A truly exceptional place!

The main goal is to design a building and environment conducive to creativity, participation and the involvement of the various parties involved. The layout of the building with its high-quality multipurpose rooms will allow users to work individually or in collective spaces allowing an interchange of ideas.

Collaborative work, the emergence of creativity and the goal of promoting innovation require a lot of effort to be put into the design of the rooms, and their scalability and adaptability are certainly one of the project’s key success factors.

The added value of a building like this is the capability of the same space being used for different functions, allowing companies to progress through a series of innovation steps (defining the problem, coming up with ideas, building a prototype, experimenting with it) and thus to innovate via fast, simple and iterative processes. The aim of the building’s design is to promote a creative ecosystem (“hub”) giving priority to transdisciplinary work and collaborative intelligence.
